NEW YORK- Massive protests brought traffic to a standstill today in thousands of cities across the country, as hospital executives scrambled to review alternatives to faxing.

"My mother died when her medication list was lost in a fax to her doctor. I will not rest until our nation's health systems go 100% fax-free," said Senay Tewelde, 74, of Jackson, MS.

"Every other industry stopped faxing decades ago, because things always get lost," said protester Veronica Green, 45, of Brooklyn, NY. "I'm tired of my medical records being faxed and going missing because the line was busy. From now on, I'm only going to visit doctors who don't fax anything," she added.

In response to the escalating protests, President Trump tweeted "We're going to build the biggest, greatest fax machine the world has ever seen, and China is going to pay for it."

At press time, several hospital leaders were heard saying that eliminating medical record faxing is now their top priority, and as such, they plan to fully phase out faxing by 2055. "If only there was some magical piece of software we could install that would instantly eliminate 100% of all the faxing we do," said Bazyli Nowak, CEO of New York Central Hospital.
